About Me My name is Stephen Kushnir. I live and work in Onondaga County, NY. My wife, Dina and I foster two teenage girls. Our time is spent learning and growing as individuals, parents, and keeping up with whatever life throws at us.
I am a graduate of SUNY Oswego with both a BS and MS in Technology Education (K-12 Certification). I am a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) in Career and Technical Education (CTE). I am an Ambassador, and trained as a Candidate Support Provider (CSP) for the National Board of Professional Teachers. I am currently a middle level (7-8) Technology Education teacher in the Liverpool Central School District, and a Master Teacher for SUNY Oswego practicum students. My point of sharing this is to point out that I am serious about learning and developing as an individual.
I have been teaching for many years, and love my job. I have the pleasure of working with an amazing staff and great students. As a member of the districts Technology Cabinet, I collaborate with a small group of technology educators to deliver the best program for our population of students and to meet the needs of our school community. As a Turnkey Trainer, I help other teachers implement new technologies and teaching practices in their classrooms.
As a technology education teacher, I am not an IT specialist whose role is to teach apps and troubleshoot hardware and software. My role is to increase the student’s technological literacy through simulations, scenarios, and problem solving activities. I provide many different learning opportunities for the students to help them see the world around them through a more technical lens.
As a drivers education teacher, I seek to help your child develop as a driver, and remove dangerous driving behaviors, replacing them with strategies and better practices.
